Twenty years ago on May 27, Professor Isamil Al Faruqi, and his wife Dr. Lamya Al Faruqi, were murdered in their home in Philadelphia, PA. No one knows why and by whom.

Professor Ismail Faruqi was an outstanding Muslim scholar of Islam who was equally learned in the Christian tradition. As professor of Islamic Stuides in the Department religion at Temple University, he supervised many Ph.D. students who are now themselves reputed scholars. He was also a founder of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), which was based on his formulation of what has become known as the Islamization of Knowledge. Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, a student of Professor Faruqi, Executive Director of the Center of Interfaith Study and Dialog and Visting Professor of Religious Studies at Nazareth University in Rochester, New York, will teach a short non-credit on-line continuing education course on Prof. Faruqi, as detailed below.
