Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jauziyyah was a prominent Muslim jurist during Islam’s Golden Age. Apart from his jurisdistic prowess, he was also competent in composing qasidah (Arabic poetry). Among his more famous works was the qasidah entitled A’obbad al-Maseeh Fi Naqd al-Nasraniyyah (O Christ-Worshippers! In Refuting Christianity). This qasidah is well-known in the Muslim world and has even been turned into a song. The following is the English translation of the poetry from the Arabic original.

1/28/13 -

In the philosophy of religion, “natural atheology” is defined as the branch of philosophy that attempts to prove the central beliefs of theists (people who believe in a God) as false. One of the most impressive and strongest arguments of natural atheology is to do with the problem of evil. The problem of evil claims that it is unbelievable, if an omnipotent and good God exists, that he would permit so much pain and suffering in the world.

The Distorted Jesus in the New Testament

2/7/10 -

The Islamic version of Jesus the son of Mary (peace be upon him) is the true and correct Jesus, as the whole world should believe. The Jews regard Jesus as a false prophet, Christians over-praise him as the “Son of God”, yet the Islamic version of Jesus(P) lies between these two extremes and remains absolutely true to the nature of Jesus, upon whom be peace. Muslims believe that Jesus(P) was a Prophet and Messenger of God, the Christ, but he was not God-incarnate.
